What day of the week does the rental week begin? Our week starts on Saturdays. Sometimes in the off season we are able to book weeks starting on other days, especially with last minute bookings. What are your booking procedures? If you are interested in booking, please fill out the form on the Contact page. We will send you a contract to sign along with payment instructions. At that point you will have 3 business days to fax or email your signed document and 10 business days to send your deposit to hold your dates. What are the deposit requirements? We require 50% of the rent as a deposit and the balance and security deposit are due 60 days prior to arrival. We send a friendly reminder 2 weeks prior to your balance due date. What are your check-in/out procedures and how do I get the key? We use a keyless entry system. Once paid in full, every tenant will be given an access code to enter on the door knob and you will be prompted to create your own private PIN number. This PIN is active only during your contracted rental period. Prior to departure we ask that you tidy up the house, wash all of the towels and strip the bed sheets. You are welcomed to bring your own towels in the case that you don't want to wash them prior to leaving. You also have the option to leave them for management to wash for a $25 fee. What is your cancellation policy? CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY- If you need to cancel we will do our best to re-book that week. In the case that we re-book to another party, you will be refunded either your original rental amount or the amount of rent in the new booking, whichever is less. If we are unable to re-book that week you will be responsible for the full amount of rent in your contract. *to date we have always re-booked and refunded all or the majority of our tenant's money. REFUNDS- in the case that a tenant is not satisfied with the property upon arrival, and the instructions at the house are followed, and if still not satisfied, a reasonable refund will be issued. We want happy tenants! Is there someone local to contact in case we need anything? We have a superb local management company that maintains the property and has a 24/7 emergency line. How close is the house to downtown? Click on our Contact page to view a map. We are a 2-5 minute drive, depending on how you hit the lights or a 25-40 min. walk to downtown. The walk is a great one for nature lovers because you follow the cove around until you get to Uncle Tim's bridge and it drops you right in to downtown Wellfleet. This walk is only possible during low tide, but never fear, we have a tide clock in the house so you can plan your walk accordingly. In addition we are only a 2 minute drive to the now famous PB Boulengerie. Click on our links page for more details. Is the house "air conditioned"? We have a PTAC unit (like you find in hotel rooms) in the living room and master bedroom. Both units offer cooling and heating. The downstairs is a walkout basement and rarely needs air conditioning, but for the humid months we have a whole basement dehumidifier that will keep it comfortable. Every room has it's own fan.
Do you take credit cards? We can take credit cards through PayPal and any fees are the responsibility of the renter. How strict is your maximum occupancy? Our maximum occupancy of 10 is very strict because our septic system can't handle more than that. Any party of more than 10 would not be a good fit for Cove View Cottage.
