Frequently Asked Questions

What day of the week does the rental week begin?

Between mid June and mid September, our week starts on Saturdays.  Sometimes in the off season we are able to book weeks starting on other days, especially with last minute bookings.

What are your booking procedures?

If you are interested in booking, please click HERE.  A deposit will be required to book and a contract signed.  Everything is done online for your convenience.

What are the deposit requirements?

50% of rent is required to book your desired dates when booking directly.

What are your check-in/out procedures and how do I get the key?

We use a keyless entry system.  Once paid in full, each tenant will be given an access code and you will be prompted to create your own private PIN number.  This PIN is active only during your contracted rental period.

What is your cancellation policy?

You have a 48 hour grace period if booking more than 30 days in advance.  If you book directly through us, we accept cancellations, and refund you the amount we are able to re-book those same dates for.  If we are unable to re-book the house, your rents are forfeited.

Is there someone local to contact in case we need anything?

Yes, we have a local management team.

How close is the house to downtown?

We are a 2-5 minute drive, depending on how you hit the lights or a 25-40 min. walk to downtown around the cove and across Uncle Tim's bridge.  The walk is a great one for nature lovers and is only possible during low tide, but never fear, we have a tide clock in the house so you can plan your walk accordingly.  In addition we are only a 2 minute drive to the now famous PB Boulengerie, where you can enjoy authentic French cuisine & pastries.

Is there good fishing within walking distance?

Yes!  The nearby Cove and Jetty as well as nearby ponds are amazing for blue fish and striped salt water bass fishing.

Is the house "air conditioned"?

We have 3 A/C units.  We have 2 PTAC wall units (like you find in hotel rooms) in the living room and master bedroom. Both units offer cooling and heating.  The downstairs is a walkout basement and rarely needs air conditioning, but for the humid months we have a whole basement dehumidifier that will keep it comfortable as well as a window A/C unit in the same room as the dehumidifier.  Every room has it's own fan.

Do you take credit cards?

Yes!  However, sometimes we offer special rates when you pay via ACH or another online source that is fee free to us.

How strict is your maximum occupancy?

Our maximum occupancy of 8-10 is very strict because our septic system can't handle more than that.  Any party of more than 10 would not be a good fit for Cove View Cottage.
